What AI Checked means
Updated
AI Checked means Arrota read your document and matched your name. It is a useful check, but it is not confirmation by the organisation that issued it.

What happens when you upload
When you upload a document, Arrota uses AI to read it, whether it is a PDF or a photograph, and to pull out the key facts: your name, the dates and the credential details. It then checks that the name on the document matches yours.
AI Checked vs Issuer Confirmed
| Label | Who checked | What it tells you |
|---|---|---|
| AI checked | Arrota's AI | The document was readable and names you. The organisation that issued it has not confirmed it. |
| Issuer confirmed | The organisation | The organisation reviewed the evidence and stands behind the record. |
AI Checked never counts as confirmation by an organisation, and an AI Checked record cannot be pinned to your public profile.
When extraction is uncertain
If Arrota cannot read the document confidently, or cannot find your name on it, the upload is refused with a message that says what to try next. If the document is readable but cannot be checked automatically, it is added as Self added. See Why an upload is still processing or was rejected.
Turn AI Checked into Issuer confirmed
On the record in your Vault, select Request issuer verification and name the organisation that can confirm it. If that organisation uses Arrota, it receives the request and can confirm, correct or decline each fact.
AI and your privacy
AI processing is optional and you choose it when you set up your Vault. Uploads need it, because they are read by AI. Document text goes to Arrota's AI provider only to read documents and to power optional AI tools. The Privacy Notice and the Trust Center explain the details.
