Verify a public credential

Updated

Check a certificate, badge or training record without an Arrota account, using its link, record ID or QR code.

On this page

Before you begin

You need one of these from the person or from the document:

  • the Arrota link to the record,
  • the record ID, or
  • the QR code printed on the certificate.

Check a record

  1. Go to verify.arrota.com.
  2. Paste the Arrota link or record ID, or choose an image that contains the QR code. The image is read on your device.
  3. Select Verify record.

If you already have the Arrota link, you can open it directly.

Read the result

The public page shows:

  • the credential title and who it was awarded to,
  • the organisation that issued it,
  • whether it is Active or Expired,
  • the credential's facts, and whether the issuer digitally signed it.

Expired means the credential is no longer current because its validity date passed or it was replaced. A revoked credential is not returned through public verification.

Records that cannot be checked publicly

Employment letters, education records such as degrees, licences, memberships and other sensitive records are protected. Their link shows only that the record is protected. To check one, ask the person to share it with you, or run a formal verification. See How formal verification works.

If the record is not found

If the link is mistyped, or the record is no longer available, the page says the credential is unavailable. Nothing about a record can be confirmed from that page. Check the link or ID and try again.
