How private sharing works
A private link shows the records you select, and nothing else, to anyone who has the link. It lasts seven days. Arrota does not send it for you: you copy the link and send it yourself.
Create a private link
- In your Vault, select Share profile.
- Under Choose what the link may show, select the records to include.
- Select Create link.
- Copy the link straight away. Arrota shows it only once.
- Send it to the person who needs it.
What the recipient sees
The recipient sees a read-only page with the records you chose and their status. They see the facts, not your files: source documents stay private. The page tells them when the link expires and that you can revoke it at any time.
Each time someone opens the link, Arrota records the view. You can review them in Settings under Disclosure history.
Good to know
- Anyone with the link can open it while it is active, so send it only to the person who needs it.
- Every link lasts seven days. There is no option to choose a different expiry yet.
- To share again after a link expires, create a new one.
- Your links, with the date each is active until, are listed under Your links in the same window.
To stop a link working before it expires, see Revoke a private share.
