Claim a record
Updated
When an organisation issues you a record, you get a private invitation to add it to your Vault. Claiming it takes a few minutes.
On this page
Before you begin
- Find the invitation email from Arrota. It names the organisation and the record it issued to you.
- Claim links are valid for seven days. If yours has expired, ask the organisation to resend it.
Claim a record with a new account
- Open the claim link in the email.
- Check the organisation and record named on the page.
- Enter your personal email address, then choose and confirm a password.
- Agree to the terms and select Create account & claim.
- Confirm your personal email address from the message Arrota sends you.
The record is added to your Vault straight away and becomes active once your email is confirmed.
Claim a record into an existing account
- Open the claim link. If you are not signed in, Arrota asks you to sign in and then returns you to the invitation.
- Check the account shown on the page. The record will be added to that account.
- Select Add to vault.
A claimed record cannot be moved to another account afterwards. If the page shows the wrong account, choose Sign in as someone else before you continue.
What happens next
The record appears in your Vault with its source and status. It stays with you even if you leave the organisation that issued it.
Troubleshooting
- This claim link has expired. Invitations last seven days. Ask the organisation to resend it. The record is still there, and a fresh link will work.
- This link is no longer usable. The link may already have been claimed, or your email app may have cut it short. Copy the full link from the email, or ask the organisation to resend the invitation.
- You already have an Arrota account. Sign in, then open the claim link again to add the record to your existing Vault.
- The invitation went to the wrong address. The organisation can correct the recipient email, which sends a new invitation and stops the old link working.
